SpeedFun Ribelle for Yamaha PW-X, PW-X2, PW-SE, PW-TE, PW-ST

ATTENTION! This device is compatible with engines from 2019 onwards. Distinction between 2017/18 engines and engines from 2019 onwards: The two engines are externally the same but the communication system becomes encrypted from 2019. Yamaha has chosen to reverse the sex of the connectors to avoid fitting old displays on new engines where they would not work.

The 2019 engine can be recognized because it normally mounts the “A” sideswitch and “C” displays. A unique way to distinguish it is to check the gender of the 5-way connector that connects the display (see image below).

The tuning kit manipulates the speed signal without altering the motor's power relative to pedaling speed. This guarantees a smooth motor control without speed limit interruptions. Depending on a tuning kit, some determine when assistance stops, while others remove the restriction entirely for continuous support. However, the achievable speed mostly depends on the eBike model. Achievable speed can be calculated using a simple formula:

Speed = Cadence [rpm] * Wheel circumference [mm] * Front Chainring Teeth / Rear Chainring Teeth * 60 [min/h] / 1.000.000 [mm/km]

After installation, your tuning kit will be activated with the activation of your eBike. This tuning kit can be activated / deactivated also, but only by your choice, you do not need to do it everytime you turn on ebike.

IMPORTANT Activation and deactivation:
Activating and deactivating the speed unlock is achieved by typing the following key sequence: light, light.
To confirm activation, the figure 50 appears briefly on the display. (the motor assists beyond 50)
To confirm deactivation, the figure 25 appears briefly on the display (the motor assists up to 25)

It is designed for Yamaha PW-X, PW-X2, PW-SE, PW-TE and PW-ST engines from 2019 onwards with Yamaha display type A (Sideswitch) and type C

When connecting the SpeedFun chip to an eBike you will find connectors colored to make installation very simple. We have prepared detailed instructions and videos to make installation easy for you. Disassembly of our tuning chip is just as easy. If you have any troubles with installation or disassembly, do not hesitate to contact us.

Warranty does not cover damage resulting from eBike software updates. Remove the tuning kit before updating the software. Check with us first to ensure the kit is compatible with your updated eBike. We cannot guarantee that the kit will function the same after updates. Please exercise caution.
